I'm this weeks Pazzles Fabulous FInd Winner!

I won this weeks fabulous find.  I'm so excited!  I made this card for a friend of mine and I had posted a picture of it on pazzlescraftroom.com and they picked my card.  My husband helped me with it, and I LOVE how it turned out.

One of my Christmas cards....

Pretty sure I'm safe posting this as most people who got this card do not look at my blog.  Anyways, it's a simple card but I think still elegant.  I just used a gel pen for the gold words in the background, the snowman is a stamp and I used my Cats eye chalks to chalk the gold on the flourish at the bottom.  I did make some other cards but can't post them yet....    ;)  Once they are delivered I will post them.  I can't wait!

Christmas cards

SO, it's already the middle of December and I have only gotten 2 of my cards ready to mail.  I need to make one or two more for people I want to add to the list.  I have some really neat ideas in mind, I just need to make them.  ugh so much to do, so little time.  Ive had some personal matters to attend to, and a recent influx of medical issues as well.  Life just doesn't give a break does it.  Oh well, I can handle it.
I can't wait to post pics of the cards I've made, I can't yet because I don't want them to see it.  ;)

It's snowing!

There's nothing better than waking up in the morning all warm and snuggly, and opening the windows to see it snowing.  Big, white snowflakes falling from the sky, turning everything it lands on white.

It's about 25 degrees here right now, and I love it.  The cold crisp air, blowing snowflakes in my face.  :)  Heaven.
I told my son I'd take him outside to play in it here in just a little bit.  Right now we're sitting at the table by the window eeating blueberry waffles just watching the snow.  The husband just left for work, and said as he drives it looks like he's driving into a blizzard.    Reminds me of hen I was a kid living in Alaska.  I wish I could go back.  One day I will.  Snowball fights, sledding ad skiing.  We used to have snowball fights along the road we had t walk home from school.  We would hide under the pine trees where the snow fell and made a little space under the branches big enough for us to crawl in. We wuld pop out like groundhogs when the other kids would walk by and pelt them with snowballs.  Good times.

My dream desk

It's the workbox!  Found it online, and oh what I would do to have this thing!  I want it so bad I can taste it.  I have my desk in my bedroom right now and we have to block the door to our bathroom to have it there.  Thank goodness theres another door to it from the hall or I'd have no desk at all.  This one packs up to be soo small and yet is so big when you open it up.  All I have to say is.... I WANT IT! lol
Only $1495

I havent made anything in the past few days but I did see a pretty neat technique on making glimmer mist ( which I also have never tried) and so I plan to do that.

A card for Cecily

I made this card for my friend Cecily.  Her husband is leaving soon on Deployment and I wanted to make her something to let her know that she wont be alone and I'm here to help.  Support is so important in the Army, and good friends are hard to come by.  Most of my friends are people I've never met online in the pazzles craft room and here on my blog.  Anyway, I decided to go ahead and make a card for her.  I actually like how it came out.
Is it strange that I want to be good at scrapbooking but I'm better at cards.... I hate that I'm better at soemthing I don't want to do as much.  I want to make cute pages, with really adorable embellishments and paper piecings and for some reason I just am not that great.  hmm...

My recent pages

I made these layouts this week.  The first is the dog show our post vet clinic sponsored last weekend.  My husband and I took our dogs up there and our new shepherd puppy Tango won best in show. He is only 12 weeks old.  Everyone just loved him.
I made the ribbon too, I pleated a strip of paper to go around the circle.  I've never done that before but it came out pretty neat I think.

The other layout I made was for my husbands scrapbook.  He took a picture of this sign in Afghanistan that actually had his home state on it saying about how far away they are.  I thought it was nifty.

A long time since my last post

So, with everything going on I haven't posted anything in a while. My daughter is now 6 months old and still battles stomach problems. She has another appointment at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital this month so we'll see.

I haven't had much time for crafting, but that's about to change. I am determined to set aside time for me to do my thing. I have managed to make a few things. This Scooby Doo card I made for my neighbors son who had surgery. Inside it says Sorry you're feeling "RUFF" Hope you feel better soon. :)

He is only 2 1/2 so he really liked it. I cut it out on my Pazzles Inspiration.

I have made another very neat thing though. I had posted an ad on a local site for me to make cards or scrapbook embellishments and got a response. They wanted a card for their daughters carnival birthday and so I created a ferris wheel card. Originally I planned to make a 7" tall spinning ferris wheel, but unfortunately my engineering skills left out the part about it being made of paper and so it well.... didn't work out. SO I created this.....
The seats swing and everything. :) That's the coolest part.I did make a alternate inside which I liked better but they wanted to do it by themselves.

So that's what I've been up to. I made 13 of those ferris wheel cards and she loved them! :) It felt great to have my hobby come to some use. I have started an etsy shop and plan to start making some other stuff and try to sell it. I could really use the money, and it's so fun!

This is a page I did recently.  It's from my Dad's house, my son was all about helping water the veggies.  I made everything with my pazzles inspiration and just used markers and chalk to make the details.  This is one of my favorite pages.

Being a Mom

So here is the latest page I've completed.  I have decided to do a page about being a mom.. it was for a sketch challenge on cafemom.  I have been blessed with these two beautiful children and thought I should do something with all of us... when I get a chance I need to do one with my husband too....  anyway, here it is.
The picture doesnt really do it justice, the colors are very toned down in this pic, the background paper is actually not solid... it's almost aged...

I made this page of my daughter, I traced the skunk in my Pazzles software and designed the flower myself. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. :)

Baby Shower layout

So, I guess I'm a bit late in making this page... my shower was in April lol...

Anyway, I am pretty excited about this page, I managed to get all my settings right on the first run in cutting the letters. I didn't have to redo it like usual. I actually am pretty excited because while making this I decided I wanted a different font on it, so I figured out how to download and use a font off the web. I got the files from the
craft room.
I found a pretty neat trick too to make the detail on the clothes without making the lines too dramatic. I didn't want to use pens so it wouldn't take away from the pictures any more than it already does. Anyway, I used the pic tool and drew the lines and then just chalked over the lines, and erased the chalk. It left just a tinge of color in the lines I made. I hope that makes sense.....

My latest projects

So it's been an interesting few days here. Got my tubes tied, 2 month old daughter got hospitalized and all of my husbands family was here for a week... whew!

Anyways, I managed to get 2 projects done. One I had help with from my sister in law, she helped me make my daughters scrapbook. I had an old book that was kinda worn on the outside so we found this super AMAZING fabric in my collection of it and decided to cover my old book.

I haven't gotten the stuff to laminate the photo that will go in the frame yet so for now it's just blank.

I also did my dads fathers day card, it's pretty simple but I think he'll like it.

My Nephews card

I made this card for my nephew who is having some hard times right now. I know he likes drums so I decided to use it in the card. I intend to send it off today if i can, I hope he likes it.

Time flies!!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've been on here. Time sure does fly when you're busy. A lot has gone on these past few months. I had a baby girl on April 13th, her name is Katarina Maree. She is such a blessing. She's soo tiny, I guess I just got used to my son who is now 2 1/2. Things are going good though, she doesn't quite sleep through the night yet, but we're almost there.
Well on the 21st of April my husband had knee surgery and is now basically stuck on the couch. He is on crutches but it's hard to get around still. He doesn't have to go back to work until the 2nd week of June... it's nice having him home with the new baby here and all.

I've been trying to get in some scrapping which has proven to be a tough process. It seems like every time I get a second something comes up and somebody needs something. So it's been slow. I did manage to get my sisters graduation card made. I'l admit I had a different plan for it in my head but I just couldn't get it to work right. So this is it.

I designed the tiger with my Pazzles Inspiration . My sisters school mascot is a tiger and the school colors are black and orange so I had a hard time not making it look halloweenish. I think it looks ok but it's definately not my favorite card.

Ladybug card

So I made this card for my friends daughter for her 2nd birthday.... I had it worked out a little different in my head but I think it turned out ok.. I designed it on my pazzles machine and used clasps to make the wings open.

Winter Wonderland

This is my most recent project and I kinda like how it turned out. I made the snowmen/dogs on my Pazzles, and I used stickles to accent the bottom of the page. I like it. :)

Happy Valentine's day!

Well, I can't believe it's already February first of all. My husband and I met 4 years ago this month. :) He surprised me with 2 cards, which were very sweet I might add.... inside the cards was $200, with a note that said Happy Scrapping!! :D He said I deserve it as I never get to go out with a bit of money and get something for me, and anything I want at that... I'm pretty excited. I have a baby girl due in April and I have yet to get a whole lot of scrapping supplies to scrap girl stuff... everything I have is for my son, so this will help me to catch up.
I have yet to be able to get my gift for him, which is sad since it is Valentine's day today.... I had planned to go yesterday but myhusband got called in to work and had to take the truck... go figure. I have a few ideas of what I want to get him, so I might try to brave the world today and go get it if I can find it. It's not only going to be bad traffic from the holiday, but we're having snow so traffic will be bad for that too.... again, go figure!
Anyways, well I guess if nothing else I'll catch up on my scrapping I can do now. My hubby will be sleeping most of the day as he was at work since 9am yesterday and still isn't home yet.
Happy Valentines Day!!

My sisters Birthday card

This is my absolute favorite card I've ever made. I used a file I downloaded from a yahoo group for the basic shape of the card and added my own little decorations to it. My sister will be 18 next week so I decided to make her a card. I love how it turned out, even my husband liked it lol.... I can't wait to send it to her. :)

Recent Projects

Here's the only two projects I've actually done in a while. I did this card and layout. The card is made with light weight paper and though you can't tell in the pic, the antlers on the reindeer have some silver glitter on the edges. What's funny about this one is that I never did send it out lol... go figure.

The layout I did is from a concert I went to the other night at the Sommet Center in Nashville. The Trans- SIberian Orchestra. I was so excited to go, it was a Chrsitmas gift from my hubby. :) I have been dreaming of seeing them for a long time, since I was a kid and playing my violin.

I chalked the paper behind the edges of the pictures to make frames, and I also chalked the guitar and the music staff. I do like how the staff came out. My husband thinks I should add a violin to the page, but Im not sure if it'd be too much, and what color to use....

6 months down.. only a few to go.

So I am going to be 6 months pregnant with what we now know is a baby girl on Tuesday. The time to deliver draws closer and makes me a bit nervous. All I can do is pray that everything goes well. For now at least everything seems fine. All my blood work and ultrasounds look good.
On a crafty note, I have a bunch of stuff to scrap, and a lot of ideas for things I want to make with my Pazzles. I have joined the craft room and have gotten a lot of good ideas, some of which I need to get some more materials for. I would really like to get into inking and do more with the pen tool on my projects. I have also been looking for more piecing files, mostly the animals. I am excited for all the new pages I'll be able to make for this year, I'll have a new baby, and with summer coming up a bunch of pics of my son playing outside. He'll be 2 1/2 when summer comes so he'll be able to go outside and do much more than last year. It's going to be great. :)
